Assessment Requirements vs. Criteria

There are 2 strands of assessment, assessment requirement and assessment criteria. Requirements are the areas the students need to complete (i.e. their name, date, pictures, maps etc). These are requirements for their assignment, however, it can only be a check list. Assessment criteria are the standards of judgment you are using to assess how well the students understand the curriculum expectations. When you are assessing for a grade, you cannot assess the requirements of the students work, but you do assess the criteria that the students are expected to meet.
